Are you looking for a nice and homey place in the south of France? My deluxe chalet in Laroque-des-Albères, a small and bustling village at the foot of the Pyrenees and very close to the Mediterranean Sea, is available for rent from April to September and is suitable for up to eight people.

The air-conditioned chalet (70m2 including the veranda) offers everything you need. It has three very comfortable bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are located on one side of the chalet, the master-bedroom is located on the other side. In the middle you'll find the living room and open kitchen with patio doors that lead to the spacious veranda. The living room is provided with a decent-sized sofa, that can be converted into a double bed.  The fully equipped kitchen has a full height fridge and freezer. The toilet, where you will also find the washing machine, is separate from the bathroom. The large veranda is beautifully decorated and has a tropical look, with a hammock, a bamboo daybed and a round wooden table where you can enjoy your meals. Next to the veranda is a swing bench, where you can treat yourself to a delicious French breakfast in the morning sun, whilst enjoying the beautiful view. The chalet is situated on a small-scale campsite. There is a swimming pool and a little restaurant. You can use all the facilities on the camping. The campsite managers are very kind and helpful.

Laroque-des-Albères offers everything you need. It's only a 3-minute drive or a 20-minute walk from the camping to the village. There is a bakery, a butchery, a delicacy/grocery shop, a post-office and some art & craft shops.  In addition to this, Laroque offers no less than eight very fine restaurants, a pizza take-away and two small bars. After diner you can go up to the tower (5 minute walk) and enjoy the most beautiful view over the valley and the Mediterranean Sea.

There is a lot to see and do in the nearby area. You can reach the Mediterranean Sea in only 15 minutes and in Argelès-sur-Mer you can find amusement all day and night. You can enjoy the sea in various ways like renting sup-boards, make a boat trip, visit an underwater Sealife museum and the coastline offers long sandy beaches as well as hidden bays, where you can enjoy swimming, surfing and relaxing on the beach. Collioure is one of the most beautiful villages by the sea and not to be missed. More inland you certainly should visit Ceret (25-minute-drive) with it's beautiful Saturday morning market, the beautiful medieval village Castelnou (40-minutes) and places like Thuir, Ille-sur-Tet and Arles-sur Tech, where you can find hidden public places to swim in the river de Tech. Perpignan is a 30 minute-drive to the north and in addition to the nice little shops, it has a rich pallet of culture to offer.  Spain is less than a half hour drive to the south. Cities like Girona (1 hour) and Barcelona (2 hours) are worth visiting. It's also a beautiful day trip to drive southwards along the French and Spanish coastline and visit Rosas and Cadaques and drive back via Figueras, where you can visit the Dali Museum. From there it's only 40 minutes back to the mobile home. If you prefer to stay around and just enjoy nature, you can walk into the mountains, where you can find marked walks, nice refreshing waters and beautiful views.  To summarise: this area has something to offer to everyone. It's the perfect escape to relax and explore.
